Resolved Question: My fiance has a second degree attempted murder charge, a simple burglary, a possession charge (weed)...?

and his court date is dec 1st... however this is his real first strike... he's tellin me that they're not gonna give him the max ... that they'll give him a plea bargain... and worst case scenario he'll most likely have to serve about 30 months... how true is this? I'm very scared... The second degree attempted murder charge really was self defense... the other guys had bats and guns... and a few weeks before the incident they jumped him with bats and basically left him for dead... his lawyer is a piece of crap... i mean really... his phone even got cut off last week... he's court appointed... is there any hope... what should i do for him? im so scared... i know he sounds like a monster and a menace to society... but no one knows him like i do... I bonded him out last year on the attempted murder charge... then we broke up in june... and when we all evacuated in sept for the hurricane ( i live in lake charles louisiana) thats when he got the burgulary charge... he stayed out of trouble the whole time we were together... im not blaming the break up... but i know him... i know he's so capable of doing right... if i didnt i wouldnt have taken him back... please someone tell me there's something i can do... or some kinda good news...??? and no this isnt his first charge... he does have prior criminal offenses... like i said... i know he sounds horrible... and u all are wondering what am i doing with a guy like him... he just got involved with the wrong people... I really do believe he's realized his actions were wrong... and he's even told his cousins (thats the people he would get into trouble with) to no longer write him... he didnt put them on his list this time... now he does have a drug problem... thats what caused him to do the burglary... when he gets on xanax... thats when he does those things... I know he wont do them... because the whole time we were together last time he stayed off of them... I just know my fiance... i know he's capable... it just may be to late for the D.A to realize it... and thats what scares me :'''( also... when he was jumped... my mother in law to be did not hear from him till the next day when the law was calling her telling her that my fiance was in the hospital bleeding from his ears and probably wasnt gonna make it... so i feel like if they would have done something about it then... this wouldnt have happened...
